Matt began his recruiting career almost 20 years ago. He is on his second stint with Alliance Resource Group and we are thrilled to have him back on the team. Matt has a Bachelor’s degree in English from the Chaminade University of Honolulu where he also played Basketball. When asked what he likes best about recruiting he said, “This job is incredibly rewarding in that you can help transform the career of an otherwise talented professional who just needs that one true advocate to push them over the top.”
Matt enjoys travel, reading, working out and anything ocean related. A perfect day would include Mexican food and watching The Big Lebowski.
Erin was born and raised in Southern California. She has a Bachelor’s in Business Management from CSU Dominguez Hills. She began her career at Ernst & Young as an auditor in their advisory services group and spent 5 years in that role. In 2012 Erin began recruiting for a large national search firm and worked with them for 7 years before she joined Alliance Resource Group. When asked why she chose recruiting as a career, Erin said “I enjoy working with and helping people. What makes me a good recruiter is that I have compassion, honesty and have great speed to market.”
Erin enjoys watching black and white movies, traveling and taking her cocker spaniel to the dog park. She is also a big fan of UFC matches.
With over 20 years of Recruiting experience, Aaron brings wealth of knowledge to Alliance Resource Group and we are excited to have him as part of our team. Aaron understands that making a great placement is about finding the natural, progressive fit and relationship between the company and prospective candidate.
Aaron has a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Economics from UC San Diego. Before becoming a recruiter, he worked on cloning and sequencing DNA for a living. He is married to Amanda and has two kids, Avery and Arianna, as well as a Yellow Lab named Bentley. Aaron loves to build and fly radio-controlled drones, planes, boats, cars and helicopters. He can also play a mean power chord on the electric guitar.
Heather joins Alliance Resource Group with six years of Accounting & Finance recruiting experience in the Orange County market. When asked what she likes best about recruiting, Heather commented “There is nothing better then finding someone a new job allowing them a greater opportunity that will benefit them both professionally and personally.”
Heather grew up in Santa Cruz and has dual Bachelor’s degrees from San Jose State University in Business Marketing and Commercial Interior Design. A fun fact about Heather: Before attending college, Heather lived in Hawaii and worked on a house painting crew.
Heather and her family love the ocean; her first job was as a Lifeguard. A favorite day for Heather, her Husband Sean and Son Jack would be on a surf trip to Baja and devouring tacos at K38.
Garrett has a bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA. He was born and raised in Northern California, so we can forgive him for being a San Francisco Giants fan. He began recruiting in 2013 after a short stint as an analyst for a wealth management firm. When asked why he chose to work for Alliance Resource Group, Garrett noted that “The people I met are incredible at ARG, which makes it feel like a home rather than going to work”. Thanks Garrett, we feel the same way.
He is a scratch golfer. Some of Garrett’s other hobbies include cars, chess and growing peppers. A perfect day for Garrett would include time with his Family, Mexican food and a round of golf.
Melanie is a self-described Midwest girl at heart. Having been born and raised in Chicago, she is a Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. Melanie has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. At the age of 14 Melanie’s first job was doing Accounts Payable for her father, who was a Controller. Following college, she worked as a Financial Analyst for a large commercial bank in Chicago. Since 2002 Melanie has been in the staffing industry. When asked what she liked most about being in the staffing industry, Melanie replied “Helping people and providing value and solutions to clients”. Perfectly stated Melanie, we could not agree more.
Melanie and her husband Rob would spend the perfect day at the dog beach with their two dogs, Cava and Lu. Followed by a hike in Laguna Beach then wine tasting. Dinner at Captain Jack’s afterwards would make the day just right.
Growing up in Rainy Portland Oregon, Mark always wanted to live by the beach in sunny Southern California. After he finished his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a Finance Concentration from Portland State University, Mark made the move out here and has never looked back. Mark joins Alliance Resource Group after owning his own business for 5 years. He chose recruiting because of his ability to help people and give the access to opportunities that they may not have been able to find on their own.
Mark was a 4-year scholarship athlete and played football for the Division 1 NCAA Portland State Vikings. His perfect day would be at the beach bodysurfing, followed by some spicy Mexican food.
Ryan is the only recruiter we know that, while in college, managed a biology lab and created a limb regeneration time laps video for the National Geographic. Now that is a truly unique experience amongst our group of talented recruiters!
Ryan joins us from a large national recruiting and staffing firm. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from California State University, Long Beach. What Ryan likes best about recruiting is the challenge and his ability to make a meaningful impact for both his candidates and clients.
Not unlike many of us here in Southern California, his perfect day would be a surf session in the morning and spending the day with his wife and dogs at the beach. Ryan was born and raised in Orange County and truly enjoys the lifestyle this area of California provides.
Raised in Yorba Linda, David lives in the house he grew up in with his wife, Alicia and their tiny, but larger than life, Jack Russell terrier named Leo. Before David became a recruiter, he made a run at playing professional rugby. Professional rugby looked easier on TV than it turned out to be. He has a bachelor’s in criminal justice and sociology, as well as a juris doctorate.
“Being focused on the long term and doing the process right. There is an art to how the entire recruiting life cycle is managed if done correctly, versus just worrying about closing the specific transaction”, is the reason David is a great recruiter. He is also fond of breaking into 90’s hip hop song lyrics when the mood strikes him, but you won’t find that on his LinkedIn profile.
Kari is the friendly face you see when you walk into the Alliance Resource Group office. If it were not for Kari, nothing would get done. As our office manager, Kari keeps the wheels on the bus moving. When asked what makes her great at her job, Kari says that it is because she really cares – about her work, about the ARG staff and about our consultants. She always makes sure that everyone knows that she is there to support their needs and to help put out the great ARG product. She is well organized and fiercely loyal!
Kari was born in Saigon, Vietnam and emigrated to the United States with her family. She spent the first eight years of her life bouncing around the East Coast and Midwest before finally settling down for good in Southern California. Kari, her husband, Jeff, and their two children, Shane and Ryan, enjoy having big, loud and fun family get-togethers.
After receiving his bachelor’s in accounting with a minor in economics from Cal State Fullerton, Brad went to work as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Brad really enjoys networking, so becoming a recruiter was an easy decision. When asked what he likes best about recruiting he replied, “The satisfaction of seeing the people we place being promoted and our clients becoming long-term trusted partners. It’s a great feeling when your candidate becomes a client by way of promotion.”
Brad is our only recruiter that can land a 360 flip on a skateboard and break 80 on the golf course. Impressive! If Brad had a free day, he would want to spend time with friends doing something competitive.
Dean began working in the staffing industry 25 years ago, which makes him Alliance Resource Group’s most seasoned recruiter. He joined ARG in 2016 after successfully owning and operating his own firm, The Bennett Group, for many years. What makes Dean such a great recruiter is his ability to find the true strengths in people. To Dean everybody is blessed and everybody shines. Dean is especially talented at matching candidates to the right jobs.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Dean got his undergraduate degree from University of Connecticut and an MBA from University of Massachusetts. A father of four, Dean and his wife, Toni, also share their home with a dog, two cats and a fish named Blue. If Dean had a free day he would go for the hat trick — fishing for yellowtail in the morning, a twilight round of golf followed by playing in a poker tournament. Boom!
Born in Hollywood and raised in Los Angeles, Kyle was destined to be a star. When that did not work out, he did the next best thing and became a recruiter. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Kyle began his professional career working in accounting as an Assistant Controller and Controller for several companies in the surf industry. After a number of years working in accounting, he became an entrepreneur and developed two successful coffee-house locations in Orange County where he was the CFO (and head barista).
In 2003 Kyle again shifted his career and became a financial recruiter in the Bay area with a large national staffing company where he was responsible for building successful recruiting teams. Kyle joined Alliance Resource Group in 2009 as a Recruiting Manager.
Kyle’s knowledge of Los Angeles, his entrepreneurial spirit and his many years of financial recruiting experience make him the perfect leader to spearhead the opening of our El Segundo branch office. The office is scheduled to open in June of 2017.
Kyle is a proud parent of two girls, Maya and Sage, whom are attending college in San Francisco, CA and Paris, France. In his spare time, Kyle loves to fire up the BBQ after a good surf session.
Jennifer founded Alliance Resource Group in 2003 after four years as a consistent top five performer for a prominent national staffing agency. Jennifer’s vision was to take the best of both contingent and retained search firms and merge them into a single platform. ARG represents this vision with the high touch, highly consultative approach of the retained industry coupled with the sense of urgency and extensive and broad network of a contingent firm. Born and raised in San Diego, her claim to fame was winning the Metric Marathon in 5th grade. She wandered North and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. A Certified Public Accountant and Deloitte Alum, Jennifer has found her true professional calling running a world class staffing firm.
With boundless energy, this mother of triplets plus two successfully handles the demands of running a business and raising five children. If Jennifer had any spare time, she would enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, wine tasting, Lyle Lovett concerts and travel. Jennifer is a huge Star Wars fan; so much so that she embraced her inner geek with Star Wars Pop Art for the corporate office.
Michael formally joined Alliance Resource Group in 2016, but he has been a part of the company since day one in 2003. Michael and Jennie are married, so he has enjoyed many business conversations through the years and has been responsible for the finance duties since 2006. With the growth ARG has experienced over the past few years, Jennie convinced him to quit his day job and come on board full time to run operations and finance. Michael is a CPA and has an Executive MBA from U.C. Irvine.
Growing up in Fresno, California he graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Fresno State before moving to Orange County. Michael brings a strong accounting and finance background and an outsiders perspective, having worked as a CFO and finance executive for small private to large public companies for the past 20 years. An interesting factoid about Michael – he was a Drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army before going to college, but he is more bark than bite and makes a better accountant.
